On my search for a more flexible way to download i found the "Free Downloadmanager". The tool is, as the name says, free and very versatile.

Along with the known functions from other downloadtools like resuming this tool can do various new things:

3 Modi where you can seamlessly set your download rate (for example: Full, Half (for Gaming/Surfing) and Slow (To use whilst streaming other stuff)
Planning of downloads / Shutting down your PC after a Download
Useful transparent status windows to display your download status
All browser compatibilty
Automatic sorting of downloads via category
