What can i add to this site?
Links and Submissions - Later ones can also contain multimedia content such as pictures and videos.
How do i post stuff?
Links:
Klick on "Submit WebLink" to share an interesting link with others. Please restrict to first-level-domains which URLs are unlikely to change in near future. Sub-Sites should be posted as a Submission in their respective Categories.
Submissions:
To add a submussion, browse into the category in which you want to contribute. Click on the "New" Link to start a new empty site where a text editor assists you in creating your content.
Do i need HTML knowledge to post anything?
Normally, no, because there should be an Editor opening once you click on a "New" or "Edit" link. Its quite similar to the Text Editor you know from Word or Open Office. Those Editors work completely without you having to mess around with HTML.
In the "Your Details" Menu you can select between different kinds of Editors. Choose the one that suits you most or is most compatible with your favourite browser.
How to add images to my submission?
To insert a picture to your text, click on the picture icon in your Text Editor (position varies depending on the Editor you've selected in your User menu). A popup window should open, giving you a variety of image options:
- You can browse the CMS Server for existing pictures
- You can hotlink an external picture (i.e. from your Webspace)
- You can upload new images from your hard drive to the webserver
Eventually you can trim the Image size or (optionally) set its behaviour on click.
And then?
If not already done, you need to specify the sub category of your submission. If you forget that, you get a message when you save the submission.
 As soon as your submission is done, you can save it over the disk-icon. If not specified differently by the Administator, your submission should show up on the main page instantly. The Editor gets closed after you press this icon.
This button saves your progress, but leaves the Editor open. Changes get published immediately, but allow further editing.
This button discards all changes and closes the Editor.
Why are there 2 Editor windows?
Long entries can recieve a "teaser" text in the upper window. People that want to know more can click on a link that will show the full entry from the bottom Editor window.
When your Submission gets displayed on front page by a moderator, this function gets important.
As long as your submission is stored normally within the categories, the main and Intro text will always be shown in whole.
